Eye Surgeon procedures Joel S Meyers, MD Video Transcript
The role of an oculofacial plastic surgeon is similar to a harpist in an orchestra; all orchestras need one, just not all the time. I have been at the Eye Care Center since 1992, and we have been excited to see a lot of growth since that time. We are really excited about our new surgery center; it is a state-of-the-art facility, and we do a wide range of surgery there. I end up providing treatments in surgery for patients who need reconstructive tear duct surgery, treatments for patients who have had cancer surgery to remove skin cancers from their faces and eyelids, and I have to perform reconstructive surgery at times, even making a whole new eyelid for patients. That is one of the more gratifying things that one can do – helping someone see well.
